Terry and Sue Thompson’s stunning 1964 C2 Corvette, complete with side exhaust pipes, was one of over 150 cars on display during the Lion’s Club August 15th car show and pancake breakfast at Riverview Park. Sue’s 1956 Chevy 210 Sedan sits beside their Corvette. They drove the cars over from Albany, and while arriving at the park, Terry unfortunately blew a radiator hose in the C2. Made legendary by the movie “American Graffiti,” Ford’s Thunderbird is easily one of the romantic roadster of the 1950s. Seen at the Lion’s Club car show on August 15th.Inspiration Gardens is one of the city parks that could close until the November election resolves the city services fee to our utility bills.Members of the Western Oregon University Footaball team’s offensive line took a break from hitting the sleds to turn out to see ABBA tribute act, Band After Midnight, on August 7th during our River’s Edge Concert Series.Summer romance and our concert series go hand-in-hand.State crews worked throughout August to upgrade and rebuilt our sidewalks on Highway 51 to bring them into compliance with the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act.
