The gating the City of Independence installed at the front of John Pfaff Park was pulled aside this morning for the second straight day by unknown individuals, opening the parking lot and access to the park.

Two vehicles and several residents were in the park, one walking their dog shortly before noon today.

Yesterday evening, the gates were also pulled aside by a lone protester at the same park.

At Mt. Fir/Inspiration Gardens, residents moved the gating set up along the F street entrance to allow pedestrian access.

Meanwhile, city public works crews have installed gating around Pioneer Park on South 7th Street.
